Client requests.
Clients ask for new work from their portal: a single request becomes a task in their Queue, and a bigger engagement becomes a submitted project for your team to scope.
Clients do not need to email you to ask for work. From their portal they can file a request (one piece of work, like a banner set or a cutdown) or submit a project (a bigger engagement made of several pieces). Both land directly in UpRush, in the right place, with everything they told you attached.
Make a request (client)
- Select New request on the dashboard or on Your board.
- Fill in What do you need?.
- Optionally add Details (optional) (goals, audience, formats), a Preferred deadline (optional), the Priority and Reference links (optional), one per line.
- Select Submit request. The request joins the client's queue and its task page opens.
While a request is still in the Queue, the client can edit its title and description and can remove it with Delete request. Once the team picks it up, it is locked for editing. Clients can also drag their queued requests to put them in priority order.
What your team receives
- A new task on that client's board, in Queue, with internal status Draft and its own task ID.
- The client's preferred deadline in the task sidebar as Preferred. It is a wish, not a commitment: you set the real Deadline.
- Reference links appended to the description under "Reference links".
- A notification to the client's dedicated expert and to owners and admins.
Turning a request into work
- Open the task and complete the brief, deliverables and dates.
- Move it through planning (for example Ready for planning, Ready for quote, Awaiting assignment). See Task statuses.
- Assign production. The client sees the task as Active once it is assigned, and a draft project it belongs to activates automatically.
Submit a project (client)
- Go to Projects in the portal and select New project (or Submit your first project).
- Enter the Project name. Then describe it: Description, Objective (what success looks like), Requested deliverables (one per line: formats, sizes, quantities), Preferred deadline (optional) and Notes (optional).
- Select Submit project.
The project goes to your team with the status Submitted, and the client sees it in their project list with the same badge.
Reviewing a submitted project (your team)
- Open the project from Projects. It shows the client's description and requested deliverables.
- Select Mark under review to signal you are scoping it (status becomes Awaiting review).
- Add tasks, a project value and dates as you scope. Use New task or Attach tasks.
- When it is ready, select Review & activate. The project becomes Active.
If the engagement needs pricing first, send a proposal or a contract before you activate. More on project statuses in Projects.
