Handing off and sending.
Production hands work to a manager for internal review; a manager sends it to the client. Both steps are one click, and nothing reaches the client until a manager sends it.
Two handoffs move a deliverable out of the studio. First, the person who made it says "I'm done, take a look" (the handoff). Then a manager decides it is ready and sends it to the client. UpRush keeps those as separate steps so nothing half-finished ever lands in a client's inbox.
Hand off for internal review
Production members can hand off a deliverable they are named on, either as an assignee of the task or of the deliverable itself. Managers can hand off too, when covering someone's desk.
- Attach your work to the deliverable (the hand-off button stays disabled with Attach something first until there is a file or link).
- Select Hand off for review on the row.
- Optionally add a note in the Anything the reviewer should know? box. It posts as an internal comment on the task.
- Select Hand off. The deliverable moves to Internal review and the client's dedicated expert is notified (or your managers, if no one holds that slot).
Nothing reaches the client during a handoff. Changed your mind? Take back returns the deliverable to Working.
Send it back to production
- On a deliverable in Internal review, select Send back to production.
- Write what needs another pass. The note posts as an internal comment so the whole thread keeps it.
- Confirm. The deliverable returns to Working and the producer is notified.
Send to the client
Managers send from Working or Internal review (sending from On hold resumes it at the same time).
- Select Send to client on the row. The Send for client review dialog opens.
- Check The client will see: every attachment is listed. Internal files are ticked by default, which shares them with the client as part of the send. Untick anything that should stay internal. Files already shared show Shared and stay shared.
- Decide on the email. By default the client's members get an email with a review link. Tick Skip the email this time if you have already told them (they still see it in their portal and notifications).
- Select Send for review. The deliverable moves to With client.
The client now sees Approve and Request changes on that deliverable in their portal. The rest of the task is unaffected. If you send with nothing shared, UpRush warns you first, since the client would have nothing to look at; you can still send and share files afterwards.
Send several at once
- On a task with two or more deliverables, select Select at the top of the list.
- Tick the deliverables to send, up to 20 at a time. Rows already with the client or approved cannot be ticked.
- Select Send for review in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Review the dialog (files are grouped by deliverable) and confirm. The client receives one email listing everything.
Withdraw from the client
Sent something by mistake, or need to swap a file? On a deliverable that is With client, select Withdraw from client. The client loses the Approve and Request changes buttons for it, and the deliverable returns to Working. Production uploads pause while a deliverable is with the client, which is one more reason to withdraw before replacing work.
