Approvals.

Clients approve or request changes from their portal, deliverable by deliverable or for a whole task. When they say yes on a call instead, you can record it.

An approval is the client's sign-off, and UpRush keeps a record of every one: who decided, when, and what they said. Most approvals happen in the client portal. Some happen on a call or in an email thread, and those can be recorded by your team so the history stays complete.

Video walkthrough coming soonWalkthrough: approvals

Approving a deliverable (client)

  1. The client opens the task from their dashboard (under Waiting on you) or from the email.
  2. On the deliverable, they review the shared files (opening them in the review viewer to leave pinned notes if they like).
  3. They select Approve. An optional comment goes to the team with it.

The deliverable moves to Approved. Its assignees and the dedicated expert are notified. Other deliverables on the task are unaffected.

Requesting changes (client)

  1. The client selects Request changes on the deliverable.
  2. They write what should be different. Feedback is required.
  3. They select Send feedback.

The deliverable goes back to Working and its own revision round goes up by one. The team is notified with the feedback.

Approving a whole task

When a manager moves the whole task to Client review, the client sees it as Ready for review with the same Approve and Request changes buttons for the task as a whole. Approving moves the task to Approved and the team wraps up final delivery. Requesting changes moves it to Needs revision and starts the next revision round on the task. See Task statuses.

Record client approval

Clients approve on calls, in emails and in hallways. Managers can record those decisions so the work does not sit in limbo.

  1. Open the deliverable's menu and choose Record client approval….
  2. Read the confirmation. If the deliverable is with the client, this records that they approved it by phone or email. If it was never sent, it marks it reviewed and approved on the client's behalf, and no email is sent to the client.
  3. Select Record approval.

A recorded approval counts as the client's sign-off and is logged in your name, so the history always shows who recorded it. It is available from Working, On hold, Internal review or With client.

After approval

  • Mark delivered moves an approved deliverable to Delivered once the final files are out.
  • Reopen (in the row menu) sends an approved or delivered deliverable back to In progress for another round. The client's approval stays in the history, and reopening does not count as a revision round by itself.
