What is UpRush?.
UpRush is project management built for creative studios: briefs and boards, review and approvals, a private client portal, files, documents and money, in one workspace.
UpRush runs the whole life of a creative job in one place. A lead becomes a client, the client gets a project, the project fills with tasks, the tasks produce deliverables, the deliverables go through review, and the approved work gets invoiced. Everybody who touches the job works in the same workspace, but each person only sees the part that is theirs.
The building blocks
| Thing | What it is |
|---|---|
| Workspace | Your studio. It holds your team, your clients, your projects and your settings. You can belong to more than one workspace and switch between them from your avatar menu. |
| Client | A client organization. Each one gets its own board, its own task queue and its own private portal. Client users only ever see their own organization. |
| Project | A group of tasks with a scope, dates, files and (optionally) a value. A project belongs to a client, or to your studio itself as an internal project. |
| Task | The unit of work. Every task gets an automatic ID such as MF-GEN-0001, a status, deadlines, comments, files and deliverables. |
| Deliverable | The thing a task hands over: a cut, a frame, a deck. Deliverables move from your team to the client for review and approval. |
Two sides of every task
Every task has an internal view and a client view. Your team works with the detailed internal statuses, internal deadlines and internal comments. Clients see a simpler set of statuses and only the comments and files you choose to share. Internal statuses, internal deadlines, internal comments, quotes, costs and contractor details never reach the client portal.
Who uses UpRush
A workspace has eight roles, and one person can hold several of them. The people who run the work (owners, admins, managers, experts, finance and sales) hold management seats. Production crew, clients and guest reviewers are free. See Roles and seats for the full picture.
- Studio leads and managers plan projects, run the board, review work and talk to clients.
- Production crew and contractors see only the tasks they are assigned to, in My work, and can quote on opportunities.
- Finance and sales handle the CRM, proposals, contracts and invoices.
- Clients use their own portal to request work, review deliverables, approve, and see their invoices.
- Guest reviewers comment through no-login review links without ever creating an account.
What you can do in UpRush
