The board.

Each client gets a kanban board: tasks flow from Queue to Completed, and dragging a card changes its status for everyone in real time.

The board is the heart of UpRush. Every client organization gets its own board, created automatically when you add the client, and your studio gets one for internal work. Columns follow the client-visible status, so the board you look at and the board your client looks at tell the same story, while each card keeps its internal detail for your team.

Finding a board

Select Boards in the dock (it reads Board when you have a single client) to see every client you can access, A to Z, with your studio's internal board last. Each tile shows how many tasks are in flight and a dot when there are unread messages. With only one client, UpRush opens that board directly.

Columns

ColumnWhat sits there
QueueRequests waiting to be picked up, in priority order.
ActiveWork the team has taken on. Cards whose true status is In progress or On hold also live here, with a small badge saying so.
Client ReviewWork waiting on the client to approve or request changes. On your internal board this column reads Review.
Needs RevisionWork the client sent back.
ApprovedSigned off by the client.
CompletedFinished and delivered.

Moving cards

  1. Drag a card to another column to change its status, or within a column to reorder it.
  2. While you drag, columns you cannot drop into dim, so you always know which moves are allowed.
  3. Drop the card. The change saves immediately and everyone looking at the board sees it move.

Managers can move cards anywhere. Clients see the same board in their portal and can only make their own moves (see Task statuses). Production members work from My Work instead, which runs on internal statuses.

Reading a card

  • The task ID and title.
  • A flag for High or Urgent priority.
  • Assignee avatars.
  • Message and file counts, and a pink dot when there are messages you have not read.
  • A due pill: amber when the deadline is close, red when it has passed.

Use the Full and Minimal switch above the board to choose between detailed cards and a compact list that fits more on screen. Your choice is remembered.

Adding and archiving

  • New task in the board header, or the plus button on a column, creates a task on this client's board.
  • Hover a card in Approved or Completed to reveal Archive task.
  • Archive all completed on the Approved or Completed column tidies the whole column at once. Archived tasks leave every board and list; you can unarchive any of them from its task page.
