Deadlines, holds and rounds.

Each deliverable has a client deadline and a private internal one, can be put on hold, and tracks its own revision rounds. UpRush reads all three honestly, so a met deadline never shows as overdue.

Studios run on two calendars: the date promised to the client, and the earlier date the team actually works to. UpRush gives every deliverable both, keeps the internal one away from clients, and works out on its own whether each date has been met.

Two deadlines

DeadlineWho sees itWho sets it
Client deadlineYour team and the client. Production does not see it.Managers
Internal deadlineYour team only, marked with a lock. Never shown to clients.Managers and production working the task

Set both when you add a deliverable, or later under Edit details. Tasks have the same pair in their sidebar (Deadline and Internal). Production members always see the internal date as their due date.

How a deadline reads

SituationWhat the internal deadline shows
The deliverable is With client, Approved or DeliveredMet. The work went out, so it can never turn overdue afterwards.
The deliverable is on holdPaused. Never overdue while held.
It came back from the client and the date belongs to the earlier roundRound 2 · set a deadline, a prompt to pick a new date rather than a false overdue.
The date is today or within the next two daysDue soon (amber).
The date has passedOverdue (red).

The client deadline is simpler. It counts as met only once the deliverable is Approved or Delivered, because that is what the client was promised.

Put a deliverable on hold

  1. In the deliverable's menu, choose Put on hold. It is available while the deliverable is Working or in Internal review.
  2. The first stop of the trackline turns grey and reads On hold, and the row says since when.
  3. To continue, choose Resume, or simply send it to the client, which resumes it automatically.
  • Production still sees the Hand off for review button on a held deliverable, but it is disabled with On hold. They can keep attaching files while they wait.
  • Only managers can hold or resume.
  • Clients never see a hold. In the portal a held deliverable simply reads In progress.

Revision rounds

Revision rounds track how many rounds of changes are included and how many have been used. They exist on the task (in the Revisions sidebar section) and on each deliverable (Rounds included and Current round).

  • When a client requests changes on a deliverable, that deliverable's round goes up by one.
  • When a client requests changes on the whole task, the task's round goes up by one.
  • Reopening an approved deliverable does not count as a new round by itself.
  • Managers can adjust either number at any time, for example to grant an extra round.

Clients see the task's round on their task page as Revision round 1 of 2 when rounds are included. Rounds are a useful prompt for a change order when a client wants more than was agreed.
