Currencies.

Quote, invoice and pay in any of twelve supported currencies. UpRush never adds different currencies together, and offers an estimated combined view in Billing Insights.

For everyoneUpdated 2026-10-07

Studios work across borders, so every money document in UpRush carries its own currency. A US studio can bill one client in USD, another in EUR, and pay a contractor in COP, all in the same workspace, without anything being converted behind your back.

Where currency is set

Currency is chosen at a few levels, each one pre-filling the next. You can always override it on the document itself.

WhereWhat it does
Settings → Workspace → Default currencyPre-selected on new quotes, invoices and assignments. Owners and Admins set it.
Settings → Clients → Client billing details → CurrencyThe client’s billing currency. Pre-fills their invoices, along with their default payment terms.
Beside Project value on a projectThe currency the project is priced in.
Change ordersLocked to the project’s currency once the project has a value.
Every invoice, quote and assignmentHas its own Currency field.

Money is never summed across currencies

UpRush will not add dollars to euros. Wherever totals appear (the project Money tab, Billing → Overview, dashboards, the client’s portal Money page) you get one figure per currency, side by side. A workspace that billed in USD and EUR this year sees two sets of KPIs, not one blended number.

The estimated combined view

Sometimes you do want a single picture of the business. Billing → Insights shows a pill for each currency with activity, plus one more: ≈ All in USD (named after your default currency). Choose it to see every figure converted into your default currency.

  • Each invoice, payment and contractor cost converts at the daily exchange rate of its own date, from a public exchange-rate dataset. A three-year-old invoice is not re-valued at today’s rate.
  • Every converted figure carries a “≈” so it can’t be mistaken for a stored amount, and a footnote lists the currencies that were converted.
  • Rows that were converted are marked “≈ converted”.
  • If a rate can’t be fetched, those items are left out and the page tells you how many.
  • It is an estimate only. Stored amounts never change.

Choose any currency pill to go back to exact, unconverted figures. See Insights and dashboards.
