The Library.
Every file in your workspace in one place: browse by folder or by client, filter, review, share and tidy up in bulk.
The Library is the studio’s shelf. Every file uploaded anywhere in UpRush (to a task, a deliverable, a project or straight to the Library) shows up here, alongside your storyboards and scripts. You can browse it the way you file things (folders) or the way the work is organized (client, project, task), and you can review, share, tag or tidy any file without hunting for the task it came from.
Open it from Library in the dock. Owners, Admins, Team Managers and Dedicated Experts manage it. Clients don’t see the Library; they see their files on their portal.
Three tabs
| Tab | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Files | Every uploaded file and link, with folders, filters and the Trash. |
| Storyboards | Every storyboard in the workspace, across every folder. See Storyboards. |
| Scripts | Every script, newest first. See Scripts. |
The Library home
The Files tab opens on a home built for browsing:
- Clients: a tile for each client. Click one to see everything filed under them.
- Folders: your folder bar, where you can open, create and drag files into folders.
- Recent files: the newest uploads across the workspace. All files opens the full list.
Two ways to browse
A two-way toggle in the toolbar switches the browse bar under it:
- Folders: the folders your team creates and files things into by hand. See Folders, tags and categories.
- By client: a breadcrumb that goes client, then project, then task (for example "All clients, Acme, Spring Campaign, ACM-VID-0142"). This is worked out from where each file was uploaded, so there’s nothing to file. A file can live in a folder and still show up under its client.
Finding files
The toolbar narrows whatever you’re looking at:
- Search by name…
- Category (All categories, Uncategorized or one of your words)
- Client (All clients) and project (All projects)
- Visibility (All visibility, Internal, Client)
- Uploader (All uploaders)
- Tags, with Match all or Match any
Clear resets every filter. Switch between Grid view and List view with the toggle at the end of the toolbar.
Opening a file
Click a card or row. Images, video, audio and PDFs open in the review viewer. Anything else opens in a quick preview with a download button.
Uploading
- Open the folder you want the file in, or stay at the Library root.
- Click Upload to library (it reads Upload to this folder inside a folder).
- Drag files in or click to browse. You can add several at once.
- Optionally pick a Client org (leave it blank for an internal-only file) and add a Note.
- Click Upload.
Files start out internal-only. Files uploaded to a task or deliverable also appear here automatically. Each file can be up to 5 GB; see Storage and limits.
Client visibility
Every file is either Internal or Client. Internal files are for your team only. Client files appear on the client’s portal, alongside the task they belong to. Use the eye icon on a card (Share with the client or Make internal only) to switch one file, or the bulk bar to switch many.
Per-file actions
Hover a card for Download and the visibility toggle. More actions holds the rest:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| New version… | Uploads a new version under the same name. See Versions and compare. |
| Rename | Changes the display name. The original extension is kept for downloads. |
| Pin / Unpin | Flags a file as important. On a task’s Files tab, pinned files sort to the top. |
| Move to folder… | Files it in a folder. |
| Add tags | Adds free-form tags. |
| Add a category | Files it under a single word, such as "Final deliverables". |
| Share link… | Creates a no-login link. See Share links. |
| Move to trash | Moves it to the Trash, where it can be restored for 30 days. |
Selecting and bulk actions
Tick the checkbox on any card to start a selection. Shift-click another checkbox to select everything in between. A black bar slides up from the bottom with the count and these actions:
- Move to folder
- Share (one link for the whole selection)
- Add tags
- Set internal and Set client-visible
- Move to trash
You can also drag a selection onto a folder. Clear the selection with the ✕ on the bar.
The Trash
Trashed files aren’t gone. Click Trash in the toolbar to see them. They can be restored for 30 days, then they’re permanently deleted. Until then they still count toward your storage.
- Click Trash.
- Use Restore on a file to bring it back, or select several and use the bar.
- To free the space now, use Delete forever. This can’t be undone.
