Google Drive.

Attach files from Google Drive to tasks, deliverables and projects as links: nothing is copied and nothing counts against your storage.

For everyoneUpdated 2026-10-07

Plenty of studios keep source files, decks and footage in Google Drive. UpRush doesn’t ask you to move them. Pick files from Drive and they attach to a task, deliverable or project as links, opening in Drive when someone clicks them. Your Drive stays the source of truth, and your UpRush storage stays free for the files that live here.

Adding files from Drive

  1. On a task’s Files tab or a project’s Files tab, click Add files. On a deliverable, use the attach button.
  2. In the dialog, switch to Drive.
  3. Click Choose from Drive. Google’s file picker opens. The first time, Google asks you to sign in and approve access.
  4. Pick one or more files and confirm. They’re listed in the dialog; use Choose more to add from another folder, or the ✕ to drop one.
  5. Click Add (it reads, for example, "Add 3 files"). You’ll see a confirmation such as "3 Drive files added".

Each Drive file appears in the list as a link row with its Drive name and an icon for its type (Docs, Sheets, Slides, video and so on).

What UpRush can see in your Drive

Only the files you pick. UpRush asks Google for per-file access, which covers exactly the files you choose in the picker and nothing else in your Drive. It never browses, indexes or copies your Drive.

The same dialog has a Paste a link option for any URL: a Drive share link, a Frame.io review, a Vimeo or YouTube video, a Dropbox folder.

  1. Click Add files and switch to Paste a link.
  2. Paste the address into URL.
  3. Optionally give it a Name (it defaults to the page name).
  4. Click Add link.
  • Links don’t count toward storage. See Storage and limits.
  • Links your team adds start internal, like uploads, and can be shared with the client from the row.
  • They don’t open in the review viewer and have no versions; the file lives in Drive, so new versions happen there.
  • They can’t be included in Library share links. Share the Drive file from Drive instead.

If you don’t see a Drive option in the dialog, Google Drive isn’t available on your workspace. Paste a link works with any Drive share URL in the meantime.
