Calendar and timeline.

See every deadline, start date and deliverable on a month calendar, and every task across every client on a scrolling timeline.

For everyoneUpdated 2026-10-07

The board tells you what state the work is in. The calendar and the timeline tell you when. The Calendar lays dates out by month so you can see a crunch week coming. The Timeline lays tasks out as bars across weeks, grouped by client, so you can see who’s overloaded and what lands when.

Video walkthrough coming soonWalkthrough: calendar and timeline

The calendar

Open Calendar from the dock. The page is headed with the month and shows task and deliverable dates across every client.

Choosing which dates to show

The first select in the header picks the date type:

Date typeWhat it plots
DeadlineThe confirmed deadline the client sees. The default for managing roles.
Start dateWhen work started on each task.
Internal deadlineYour team’s own target date, which is never shown to clients.
DeliverablesWhen each deliverable is due.
All datesEverything at once.

Production Team members see a shorter list: Deadline (their internal deadline), Start date and Deliverables, for the tasks they’re assigned to.

Filtering and moving around

  • All clients narrows the calendar to one client.
  • All assignees narrows it to one person’s tasks (managing roles).
  • Previous month, Today and Next month move through time.
  • Search tasks filters the month you’re looking at by task ID or title. To find a task in any month, use the command palette (⌘K). See Getting around.
  • A busy day shows a +N more link; click it to see everything on that day.

Reading the chips

  • Each chip is a task or deliverable. Its dot follows the task’s status color, and a small swatch shows which client it belongs to. Hover for the task ID and title; click to open it.
  • A play icon marks a start date.
  • A package icon marks a deliverable. Delivered work turns mint.
  • A lock marks an internal date: an internal deadline or a deliverable’s internal due date, never shown to clients.

Each project also has its own Calendar tab with the same view for just that project. See Projects.

The timeline

Open Timeline from the dock. The header reads Timeline with the date range it covers. Tasks are grouped by client, one row each, against a band of months and a row of weeks or days. The view opens scrolled so today sits near the left, and a floating Today pill brings you back if you scroll away.

ControlWhat it does
Deadline / Start → DeadlineShows each task as a marker on its deadline, or as a full bar from start to deadline.
Compact / Comfortable / WideZooms the timeline out or in.
All clients / All assigneesFilters the rows.
Arrow buttonsScroll back or forward one month.

Reading the rows

  • Click a task’s ID or title on the left to open it.
  • A Blocked chip flags a task that’s blocked.
  • Deliverables appear as small diamonds on the row: white when upcoming, red when overdue, mint when done. Hover one for its name and date.
  • A task with two or more deliverables can expand into one lane per deliverable with Show deliverables.
  • Finished tasks are tucked into a Completed group at the bottom. Open it when you need them.

Each project has a Timeline tab too, with the same view for that project.

What clients see

Clients have their own Calendar and Timeline in the portal, limited to their organization’s work and to client-safe dates. Their calendar offers Deadline, Completed and All dates, with chips for confirmed deadlines, preferred dates they asked for that aren’t confirmed yet, delivered work, and their plan renewal if they’re on a subscription. They never see internal deadlines, internal deliverable dates, assignees or other clients. See The client portal.

Internal deadlines and confirmed deadlines are explained in Deadlines, holds and rounds.
