Proposals.
Write a priced proposal, send it with a no-login approval link, and turn an approved proposal into a project in one click.
A proposal is your priced offer: line items, a total, notes and terms. You send it to the client by email, they open a link (no account needed), read it and approve or decline. Once approved, one click turns it into a project with the proposal’s value already set.
Proposals live in Billing → Proposals. Each one gets a workspace number such as PRO-07. You can also write one for a lead that is not a client yet, straight from the CRM.
Write a proposal
- Go to Billing → Proposals and click New proposal. (From a lead, click Create proposal in its Documents section instead; the proposal is addressed to that lead.)
- Choose the client and the currency, and give it a title.
- Add the line items: a description, a quantity and a unit price for each. Use Add line for more. The total adds itself up.
- Write any notes for the client, set Valid until if the offer has a shelf life, and add your terms.
- Click Create draft.
A draft is yours to change: Edit reopens the builder, and Delete removes it. Only drafts can be edited. Use PDF any time to download a copy.
Send it
- Open the draft and click Send.
- Check the recipient in To, and add up to ten Extra recipients if others should get a copy.
- Click Send proposal. The client gets a branded email with a Review and sign button and the PDF attached.
Sending freezes the numbers and opens the approval link. Prefer to deliver it yourself? Tick Don’t send the email and the button becomes Mark as sent; then use Copy sign link and share the link however you like.
While a proposal is out, you can:
- Copy sign link to paste the link into a message.
- Resend email if the client lost it.
- Withdraw to pull it back to a draft. The old link stops working, so you can edit and send again.
- Record client approval… or Record client decline… when the answer came by phone, email or in a meeting.
What the client sees
The link opens a clean page with your proposal: the lines, the total, your notes and terms. No login is needed. The link stays live for 30 days.
- The client clicks Approve or Decline.
- They type their Full name and Email, and optionally Anything to add.
- They click Confirm approval (or Confirm decline). Their name and the date are recorded with the answer.
You are notified either way. Clients who already use the portal can also find and approve proposals on its Money page; see The portal’s money page.
Statuses
Turn an approved proposal into a project
- Open the approved proposal.
- Click Convert to project.
- UpRush creates a draft project for the client with the proposal’s value as its project value. The proposal now shows a link to open it.
From there, see Projects to plan the work and Project value and SOW for how the value feeds invoicing. Usually a contract follows the proposal: see Contracts and e-signing.
